Pattaya is the closest of all prime destinations to Bangkok. Thanks to Bangkok’s new International Airport, it now occupies a central location and is fast changing from a Bangkok weekend resort and nightlife center to a major retirement destination.
In just a few decades, Pattaya has changed from a small fishing community to become a booming resort. Located on the Eastern coastline of Thailand's exotic Gulf of Siam approximately 140 km east of Bangkok or 45 minutes drive from the Suvarnabhumi Airport, Pattaya occupies a central position and is considered by some to be one of Thailand’s most enigmatic cities. Jomtien, which is located just south of Pattaya, offers an alternative to its close neighbor with a more local flavor. This well-established community keeps growing fast, while conserving a peaceful and relaxing family atmosphere.
